Huskies’ Errors, PSU’s Strength Ends UW’s Season
It was only fitting that the Washington women’s volleyball team’s season ended at the hands of Penn State. The latter program, champions from 2007-2010, is the envy of many and the goal of a program like Washington, which proved to not quite be at that level. On Thursday night, in the Final Four of the NCAA tournament, the Pac-12 champion and third-seeded Huskies were swept by the second-seeded Nittany Lions, 25-14, 25-13, 25-16, at KeyArena in Seattle. Washington (30-3) hit just .117, while the Penn State (33-2) posted a .488 hitting percentage and eight blocks.
