Wrestling Wraps Day One Of Southern Scuffle

CHATTANOOGA, Tenn.—The Arizona State wrestling team wrapped up the first day of the Southern Scuffle on Wednesday, with one Sun Devil remaining in tomorrow’s competition.

Kevin Radford is set to take on Trey Adamson of Duke on Thursday in the fourth round of consolation for the 174-pound weight class.

In today’s action, Radford defeated Air Force’s Konner Witt in a 7-1 decision before he fell to Oregon State’s Joe Lathan in a 7-1 decision.

Other notable wins for ASU includes Blake Stauffer’s 15-0 tech fall victory over Stacy Davis of North Carolina in the opening round of action in the 184-pound bracket, and Chace Eskam picked up a pin in three minutes over Northern Colorado’s Cole Breigel in the opening round of action at 197.

On the day, the Sun Devils picked up 10 points, and are currently in 29th place. Minnesota currently leads in the team scoring with 53.5 points.
