This win is the 22nd win for Colorado this season, moving them to the fourth most wins in a season (3 of the 4 are also owned by current coach, Coach Boyle).

Colorado moves on to play No. 4 seed California who they just lost to on Mar. 8 in OT (65-66).

Coming into this game, Colorado had made 607 free throws, third most in school history, while also posting the seventh highest free-throw percentage all time at CU (FT%: .722). However, Colorado made only 1-5 FTs in the first half, resulting in the worst FT% in the first half for Colorado this season

Colorado significantly improved their free throw shooting in the second half, shooting 72.7% (8-11) and improving their final game FT% to 56.3%, still their second lowest FT% for a game this season (Jan. 25 @ ASU, 37.5%)

Askia Booker led Colorado in scoring with 21 points, shooting 9-17 from the field and 3-3 from the line, while also picking up 7 rebounds and four assists. Booker moved up the all-time Colorado scoring list (1,173) from 22nd to 21st, passing Jamahl Mosley (1,171).

USC stayed in the game all the way through with their defense (seven lead changes and tied 10 times). The team recorded 7 blocks and 6 steals. However, they were out-rebounded by Colorado 38-27 which led to 10 second chance points, and 10 fast break points.

Colorado almost exclusively used their starters for scoring this game. The Colorado bench only scored 2 points (Thomas), while the USC bench recorded 9 total points between Jacobs, Gavrilovic, and Haley.

No. 5 seeds remain undefeated (3-0) against No. 12 seeds in the Pac-12 Tournament.

Colorado picks up its first win at a neutral site on the season, moving to 1-2 at neutral sites.

Colorado had 3 players in double figures for points (Booker, Scott, Johnson). Scott was also one rebound away from his 14th double-double of the season posting a line of: 13pts and 9 rebounds.

Colorado is 2-0 this season against USC, beating them 83-62 at home, and 83-74 at USC. However this is the first time the teams have faced each other in the conference tournament.

Colorado is coming off a 65-66 overtime loss at California on March 8, leaving them in a five-way tie for third place in the Pac-12 standings. By virtue of tiebreakers, they earned the No. 5 seed for the conference tournament, the fourth straight year (three times in Pac-12, once in Big 12) they have finished fifth in regular season standings.

After starting the season 14-2, Colorado’s then leading scorer Spencer Dinwiddie (14.5 ppg) suffered a season-ending knee injury

USC Junior, Byron Wesley, is the only Pac-12 player this season to lead his team in both scoring and rebounding averages (6th in Pac-12 scoring, 15th in Pac-12 rebounding).

This is USC coach Andy Enfield’s first Pac-12 tournament since being hired away from FGCU this offseason where he led the Eagles to the sweet sixteen (first ever no. 15 seed to reach NCAA sweet sixteen)
