UPDATE: Cal vs. Sacramento State Rescheduled due to Rain

Cal's game vs. Sacramento State, originall scheduled for March 26, has been rescheduled due to inclement weather. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, April 23. Time to be announced.

WHO TO WATCH WEDNESDAY
After a great week at the plate, Cal’s combined batting average has improved to a solid .302 overall, topped by Cheyenne Cordes’ .463 average. Cordes leads the team in doubles (9) and slugging percentage (.817). Kylie Reed is also above the .400 mark with a strong .411 in 107 at bats. Danielle Henderson continues to lead Cal in home runs, just one away from double digits with nine homers in 2014. Henderson is batting .352. In the circle, Stephanie Trzcinski leads with a 2.61 ERA and a 4-3 record after pitching a no-hitter this weekend. Trzcinski has struck out 37 batters and owns one shutout in three complete-game performances. Nisa Ontiveros is at a 3.17 ERA with a 9-5 record in 17 games after 75 innings of work and 39 strikeouts, while Katie Sutherland-Finch is 5-3 with a team-leading 40 strikeouts in 56.1 innings.

LAST TIME OUT
Cal swept every opponent in last week’s games to go a perfect 6-0 and improve to an 18-11 record and eight-game win streak. The Bears hosted Grand Canyon in a doubleheader at home Thursday, then played Grand Canyon, Princeton and Santa Clara in four games at the Marriott Round Robin in Santa Clara, Calif. Nisa Ontiveros, Katie Sutherland-Finch and Stephanie Trzcinski all added a pair of wins to their records, and Trzcinski pitched her first collegiate no-hitter in a 9-0, six-inning rout of Princeton. It was Cal’s first shutout win of the season and one of three consecutive mercy-rule games that the Bears handed their opponents. The Bears also had terrific performances at the plate, highlight by 27 extra bases from juniors Cheyenne Cordes (two doubles, three homers), Breana Kostreba (four doubles, two homers) and Danielle Henderson (three doubles, one homer)              .

SCOUTING THE HORNETS
The Hornets enter Wednesday's contest batting .269 as a team with a 2.26 team ERA. On the offensive side, Sasha Margulies owns the team-high .351 batting average with six doubles and 12 RBI. Four other Sac State players are batting above .300, including Paige Castro (.324) and Alexa Chattleton (.314), who have combined for 30 of the team's 94 runs scored. At .273, Paige Martin is also a scoring threat with 11 RBI. The Hornets have just two home runs in 2014, but eight triples and 36 doubles. Caitlin Brooks owns the Hornet pitching staff's lowest ERA with 1.31 and a 4-4 record, 49 strikeouts and 53.1 innings in eight starts. At 2.82 ERA, Jennifer Hartman (4-4) has earned the start seven times and Taylor Stroud is at 4.08 with a 4-5 record in nine starts.

DUE UP
Cal travels to Corvallis, Ore., for its second Pac-12 series. The Golden Bears meet the Beavers beginning Friday at 1 p.m. The squads will also play single games on Saturday at 1 p.m. and Sunday at noon. All games will be held at the OSU Softball Complex.
