Cal Auctioning Pink Jerseys to Benefit Friends of Jaclyn Foundation

Apr 24, 2014

BERKELEY, Calif. – Fans wishing to purchase Cal’s new pink jersey tops will have their chance this Sunday during the UCLA series finale, as the Golden Bears will host a silent auction during the game for each jersey. Bidding starts at $100, and any proceeds above the $100 amount will be donated to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation.

Fans can place their bids on each member of the Cal softball team’s jerseys at the marketing table at Levine-Fricke Field during the game. After the game, jersey winners will be announced. Jersey winners have the option to have the jerseys washed by the Cal equipment staff or take the apparel home as is. Winners also have the opportunity to get their jersey signed by members of the Cal softball team.

Payment for the jerseys is cash only.

The Bears have partnered with the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation for the fifth year in a row to sponsor Barbara “Bebe” Wiggs as their adopted teammate. Bebe was diagnosed with an extremely rare form of pediatric brain cancer but has made significant improvements in health since partnering with the Bears and has also made a significant impact on many of the players in the program.
