Last Game
Dylan Davis, Jeff Hendrix and Michael Conforto combined to drive in nine runs to pace the Beavers to a 10-4 win over Cal Friday night to open the series. Ben Wetzler, meanwhile, improved to 8-1 on the year after holding the Golden Bears to one run over 7 2/3 innings. Davis drove home three with a double in the seventh and Hendrix capped the Beavers’ scoring with a three-run home run in the ninth. Conforto opened the game with a two-run double in the first. OSU tallied seven extra-base hits.
Top Of The Order
The top six batters in Oregon State’s lineup combined for all 12 hits (in 26 at bats, a .462 average) in the team’s 10-4 win Friday. They also drove in all 10 runs and accounted for nine runs scored.
Not Conforto But Close
The top three bases on balls tallies in the Pac-12 Conference this season belong to Beavers. Michael Conforto leads the league with 39 but two OSU freshmen are close behind. Logan Ice walked twice Friday to give him 29 on the year. Trever Morrison also walked and has 27.
Within Striking Distance
Michael Conforto is close to breaking his first record at Oregon State. The junior drove in two runs Friday, tying him with Joe Gerber for second-most in an OSU uniform at 169. Conforto needs five to become the all-time leader, which would move him past Andy Jarvis. Both Jarvis and Gerber reached their totals in four seasons.
Davis Also Close
Dylan Davis is close to a record of his own. The junior slugged one double in the series opener, giving him sole possession of second place in OSU history with 46. He needs four to surpass the current record holder, Chris Biles, who also played four seasons at OSU.

• Both Michael Howard and Andy Peterson carry seven-game hit streaks into Saturday’s game.
• The Beavers have won eight straight over Cal. Couple that with an eight-game streak over Stanford and OSU has won 16 straight over the Bay Area schools.
• The four steals by the Beavers Friday marked a single-game high for 2014.
• Cal was just 1-for-12 with runners on base against Friday’s starter, Ben Wetzler.
• OSU improved to 16-5 away from Goss Stadium with Friday’s win.
• The Beavers’ .800 winning percentage is tied for third nationally. OSU’s +3.5 run differential is good for fourth nationally.
