Inglis leads UO in round one at NCAA West Regional

CLE ELUM, Wash. – Sophomore Caroline Inglis eagled a par-four and carded an even par round to lead Oregon in the opening round of the NCAA West Regional. The No. 32 Ducks – competing in regionals for the seventh straight season – fired a 311 (+23), Thursday at the Tumble Creek Club in Cle Elum, Wash.

Oregon sits in 12th place out of teems that teed off in the morning round. Top-ranked USC leads the field after carding a three-under, 285. USC’s Kyung Kim shot a 66 (-6) and sits atop the individual leaderboard. An additional 12 teams will tee off this afternoon.

Inglis – a native of Eugene – provided UO’s top round and is tied for 13th individually out of competitors from the morning round. On the par-four 12th hole, Inglis’ tee ball left her 120 yards from the pin and in the middle of the fairway. She capitalized by holing out to eagle the 370-yard hole. Inglis also birdied the 16th hole and played her final four holes at even par. Prior to today’s round, Inglis had carded six consecutive rounds of 75. Inglis has now played 10 rounds at or below par on the season.

Freshman Cathleen Santoso, an honorable mention All-Pac-12 honoree, paced the Ducks with a 76 (+4). The Sydney, Australia, native made double-bogey on her first hole but responded quickly with a birdie. Santoso carded a 39 (+3) on her first nine and a 37 (+1) on the final nine. She finished with 12 pars and two birdies.

Junior Cassy Isagawa carded a 79 (+7). Isagawa – who recently became the fourth player in UO history to garner three all-conference awards – made consecutive birdies on holes No. 16 and 17 and finished with 10 pars.

Freshman Marcella Pranovia and senior Raphaela Dyer were also in action for the Ducks, carding rounds of 84 and 87, respectively.

In Friday’s second round, tee times will switch as Oregon will tee off in the afternoon wave at 12:00 p.m. (PT).
