Propst Named to IWLCA West All-Region Team

May 12, 2014

EUGENE – Oregon women’s lacrosse player Shannon Propst was named to the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association West All-Region second-team on Monday. This is the first IWLCA All-Region team recognition for Propst and only the 10th time a Duck has earned second-team honors.

The last time a UO player was named to the all-region team was back in 2012 when Oregon earned a pair of second-team accolades in Caroline Federighi and Jana Drummond.

Propst finished the season with 27 goals, 44 assist and tied for the team-lead in points with 71. She also grabbed 21 groundballs while tallying nine draw controls and eight caused turnovers. In conference play, the senior led the team with 19 assists and 28 points.

Propst has also rewritten the Oregon history books this year, breaking the all-time points and assist record along with the single-season record for points and assist. The attacker from Bel Air, Md., recorded 219 career-points at UO and dished out 114 assists in her four-year career at Oregon.

The senior also broke the single-season records for points (71) and assist (44) this year, both of which were recently set by Propst last season. She also set the single-game record in points and assists in the Ducks’ first game of the season against Stetson, dishing out a whopping nine assists and finished with 10 points.

Propst wrapped up her final season at UO second in conference play with 2.32 assists per game while she tied for fourth in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation with 3.74 points per game.

As of May 11, Propst’s 2.32 assist per game places her fifth in the nation while her 3.74 points average ties her for 36th in the country.

Oregon finished its season 11-8 overall and 6-3 in MPSF play. The Ducks advanced to the MPSF Tournament semifinal before falling to the eventual champion, Denver, 18-9.
