Roundup: Facility upgrade coming for Cal's Haas Pavilion

California

Cal announced Monday that Haas Pavilion will receive $10 million in improvements. According to the school’s release, the money will go toward a new scoreboard hung over center court, better sound and lighting systems, and improved facilities for video production.

Arizona

Rich Rodriguez has named redshirt freshman Anu Solomon the starting quarterback for Arizona football. There has been a very solid track record with redshirt freshmen starting quarterbacks over the last couple of years, Marcus Mariota and Brett Hundley for starters. Arizona takes on UNLV Friday.

USC

Speaking of starters, USC will have three of 'em that are true freshmen for Fresno State-USC, if the depth chart is to be believed.

Washington State

Jacob Thorpe reports that Washington State football will no longer play home games in Seattle after this season opener against Rutgers is wrapped up.

Jerry Palm of CBS Sports predicts that Oregon will make the College Football Playoff as the No. 4 seed, taking on Alabama. He has Florida State and Oklahoma on the other side of the bracket.
