California's Salcedo Voted Men's Soccer Player of the Week

Oct 13, 2014

SAN FRANCISCO - The Pac-12 Conference announced CALIFORNIA’s Paul Salcedo as the Pac-12 Men’s Soccer Player of the Week for games from Oct. 6-12.

Salcedo (Inglewood, Calif.) scored a pair of goals last weekend to propel the Golden Bears to victories over No. 2 UCLA and San Diego State. The freshman put in the second goal in the 3-2 OT win over the Bruins, and tallied the game-winner in the 81st minute on Sunday in the 4-3 win over the Aztecs. Salcedo has now scored in three consecutive matches. He works as a part of a California offense that ranks first the nation in scoring (3.00) and total points (103).

The honor is Salcedo’s first and is the Golden Bears’ 31st overall player of the week selection as well as their third this season.

The Golden Bears are on the road this week and will face Stanford on Monday, Oct. 20 at 7 p.m. PT. For more information and to view the 2014 television schedule, visit www.pac-12.com.
