Anthony Robles joins Pac-12 Networks as wrestling analyst

2011 NCAA Champion and Jimmy V award winner makes broadcasting debut November 24

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF. (Nov. 17, 2014) – Former Arizona State wrestler Anthony Robles will make his broadcasting debut this season as an analyst throughout Pac-12 Networks’ slate of 11 televised wrestling matchups, it was announced today.

Robles will make his first appearance on Pac-12 Networks on Monday, November 24 at 7:00 p.m. PT when his alma mater Sun Devils visit No. 20 Oregon State, airing across all seven Networks and available at Pac-12.com/now and the Pac-12 Now app.

Robles became a national inspiration due to his remarkable story of, despite being born without his right leg, going from walk on for ASU to a three-time All-American and the 2011 NCAA Champion in the 125 lb. weight class. His determination and subsequent success earned him numerous honors including the ‘Jimmy V’ award at the 2011 ESPY Awards, the 2011 NFL Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award and being inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame in 2012. Most recently, Robles was appointed by President Obama to the President’s Council on Fitness, Sports and Nutrition in September 2013.

Pac-12 Networks is home to 11 televised wrestling matches this season, including the Pac-12 Championships, hosted by Oregon State, Sunday, March 1.
