Cougars get second ranked win; Five sweep through thanksgiving

The Pac-12 currently features two top-10 teams in 8/8 STANFORD and undefeated 10/12 CALIFORNIA. 17/18 OREGON STATE remains in the top-20 this week as the conference’s only other undefeated team. Last week five Pac-12 schools swept through their respective Thanksgiving Tournaments.

It also saw two triple-doubles by a pair of tournament MVPs in Cal’s Brittany Boyd and Colorado’s Lexy Kresl. Five teams enter the week having won four or more in a row. WASHINGTON STATE posted its second top-25 win of the season, knocking off No. 8 Maryland in Puerto Rico for the highest-ranked win in program history. The Cougars knocked off No. 22 Dayton to open the year.

Also sweeping through tournaments was California, now 6-0; Colorado, which knocked off in-state rival, Colorado State in a thrilling double overtime contest to win its Omni Classic; USC, which swept through the SMU Tournament and has now won five-straight and Oregon State, who won both games at the Westin Invite in Hawai’i to move to 5-0 on the year.

Much of the conference is gearing up for finals, leading to a relative light week for the schedule makers. COLORADO will head to No. 22 Iowa for a Sunday matchup. Regional matchups includes Sacramento State taking on California, Washington and Seattle tangling at Key Arena in the Emerald City, and West Coast Conference foe Portland taking on Washington and Oregon.
