'The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball, Presented by 5-hour ENERGY' set to premiere January 28
Critically acclaimed all-access documentary franchise goes beyond the hardwood with eight episodes covering all 12 Conference men’s basketball squads
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. (January 21, 2014) – The original all-access documentary franchise The Drive is moving into basketball with the season premiere of The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball, Presented by 5-hour ENERGY Wednesday, January 28 at 9:00 p.m. PT, exclusively on Pac-12 Networks and Pac-12.com.
The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball will go behind-the-scenes, offering fans unprecedented access to Pac-12 Men’s Basketball both on and off the court. The unique aspect of the basketball series is that all 12 Conference men’s basketball programs will be featured across the eight-episode season.
The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball looks to share the unique story of the student-athletes and individuals that make up each Conference program as they all march toward the Pac-12 Tournament. Each 30-minute episode will focus on two Pac-12 teams in the days leading up to their matchup with exclusive footage from inside the locker room, practice and film sessions, plus an current look at the state of the Conference race to keep viewers up-to-date. Additionally, Pac-12 Network filmmakers will also capture off the court storylines surrounding the everyday lives of players, coaches and team personnel.
The premiere episode focuses on top-ranked Arizona and their January 4 meeting with in-state rival Arizona State with behind-the-scenes practice footage, plus interviews with head coaches Sean Miller and Herb Sendek and profiles of Arizona C Kaleb Tarczewski and ASU F Shaq McKissic.
Senior Coordinating Producer Michael Tolajian will again lead the production team along with Emmy Award-winning producer Jim Jorden.
New episodes of The Drive: Pac-12 Basketball, Presented by 5-hour ENERGY will premiere every Wednesday night heading into the opening round of the Pac-12 Men’s Basketball Tournament Wednesday, March 11 from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. The final two episodes of the season focusing on the Tournament will air back-to-back Wednesday, March 18 (time TBD).
