MAC Hermann Award watch list includes six Pac-12 soccer players

A half-dozen of the Pac-12's finest soccer players have been named to the preseason watch list for the sport's most prestigious award.

Four from the Stanford Cardinal and two UCLA Bruins were named Wednesday to the MAC Hermann Award watch list, which is given annually to the top male and female college soccer players in America.

On the men's side, UCLA's Michael Amick was named to the list along side Stanford's Jordan Morris and Brandon Vincent. Among the 28 women on the watch list are Taylor Smith of UCLA and Jane Campbell and Andi Sullivan from Stanford.

Amick, a center-back who was a third-team NSCAA All-American in 2014, started all 24 games for the national runners-up. His teammate, Leo Stolz, won the MAC Hermann Award last season. Morris, whose stints with the U.S. Men's National Team have earned him national headlines, was a finalist for the Hermann last season, during w hich he scored four goals and six assists. His teammate, Vincent, earned All-American honors in 2014 and was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year.

The Pac-12 soccer season begins August 17, and more than 100 men's and women's games will be broadcast all season long on Pac-12 Networks.
