It might be the season opener for the Washington football team, but a former Cougar hooper made quite the splash in Pullman Saturday.
Golden State Warriors All-Star guard Klay Thompson was in town for Washington State football’s 2015 lidlifter against Portland State and brought some hardware with him. Thompson gave the Cougar faithful an in-person look at the Larry O’Brien Trophy that the Warriors won after beating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the 2015 NBA Finals.
Thompson, who played in Pullman from 2008-11, posed for plenty of pictures.

Despite Thompson's appearance, the Cougars couldn't pull off the win, falling 24-17 to the Vikings Saturday.
