Cats Go Undefeated in Tulane Pelican Classic Tournament

NEW ORLEANS, La., – Seventh-ranked Arizona sand volleyball team closed out its weekend of play undefeated at the Tulane Pelican Classic as they earned a victory against LSU, 3-2. UA stands as the only team to go undefeated this weekend with victories over Spring Hill College, Georgia State, and LSU. The sand cats now hold a (13-3) record.

Arizona's No. 1 tandem of Madison and Mckenna Witt got a well-earned win as they battled against LSU's No. 1 team of Katie Lindelow and Ashley Allmer (21-17, 21-8). 

Meanwhile on court two, Wildcats' No.2 duo of Jianna Bonomi and Katarina Schulz owned the court as they defeated Helen Boyle and Lilly Kessler, (21-17, 21-18).

The Sand Cat's No. 3 pair of Olivia Macdonald and Samantha Manley closed the match with a fight, but fell to The Tigers in straight sets against Cati Leak and Callan Molle (21-11, 21-17).

LSU's No. 4 team of Riley Young and Mandi Orellana picked up another win against Arizona, after a battle they earned a victory against Tyler Lucas and Kalei Mau (25-23, 21-14).

Arizona's No. 5 team of Hailey Devlin and MacKenzie Kleespies would they go on to defeat The Tigerss duo of Carly Morris and Cheyenne Wood, (21-12, 21-9).

Arizona returns back to the desert as they take on rivals to the north, Arizona State on Thursday, April 14 at 3:00 p.m. MST for the last home match of the 2015-16 season. The Wildcats will also honor its seniors for the final day of play on Bear Down Beach.
