UCLA Claims Top Seed for Pac-12 Gymnastics Championship

SAN FRANCISCO – The team seedings at the 2018 Pac-12 Women’s Gymnastics Championships are set, as announced by the Conference today. The seedings are determined by NCAA regional qualifying scores. The Championships will be held Saturday, March 24 on campus at University of Arizona. Tickets are still available for both sessions of the meet at Arizona’s official website or at the door at the McKale Center.

  • Saturday, March 24: Session #1: Live on Pac-12 Network from 1 p.m. PT / 2 p.m. MT until 3:30 p.m. PT / 4:30 p.m. MT
  • Saturday, March 24: Session #2: Live on Pac-12 Network from 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT until 8:30 p.m. PT / 9:30 p.m. MT
 
Viewers with usernames and passwords issued by their TV providers have the option to watch the Pac-12 Network broadcasts online at Pac-12.com, as well as on the Pac-12 Now app.
 
UCLA earned the top seed in the team competition after posting a regional qualifying score (RQS) of 197.840. Following the Bruins is the No. 2 seed UTAH with a RQS of 197.540. Holding the No. 3 seed is WASHINGTON with a 196.915 RQS. Rounding out the top four is CALIFORNIA with a 196.775. These four teams compete in the second session of the championships which is slated to begin at 6 p.m. PT.
 
The first session of the day begins at 1 p.m. PT. OREGON STATE, with an RQS of 196.765, is the No. 5 seed. The other three teams in the opening session include No. 6 seed ARIZONA STATE (196.510), No. 7 seed STANFORD (195.920), and No. 8 seed and host ARIZONA (195.630).
 
Below lists the event at which each team will start Saturday. Competition will proceed in Olympic order.

The top three seeds in each session (in order of ranking) selected the event on which it wished to begin from the available events, following the Olympic order thereafter.
 
Team regional qualifying scores are calculated on the teams’ six best regular-season meet scores. Three of these scores must be from an away competition. The highest score is eliminated then the remaining five scores are averaged.
 
Tickets for the event, to be held at the McKale Center on campus at University of Arizona this coming Saturday, March 24, are still available at Arizona’s official website or at the door at the McKale Center.
