Roundup: Tiger Woods, Jon Rahm finish in top 5 at PGA Championship

Tiger Woods is back, y’all. The former Stanford great finished second at the PGA Championship Sunday in St. Louis, leading Tod Leonard of the Los Angeles Times to write that Tiger Woods’ golfing future looks much brighter now than it did at the beginning of 2018. Back-to-back top-10 finishes at the last two majors of the season ain’t too shabby. Also, shout out to former Sun Devil Jon Rahm for finishing in a tie for fourth.

California

Former Cal swimmers Ryan Murphy and Nathan Adrian won more gold medals on the final day of the Pan Pacific Championships in Tokyo, with Murphy taking first in the 200-meter backstroke, while Murphy and Adrian helped the USA take gold in the 400 medley relay.

Oregon

Former Oregon baseball standout Ryon Healy hit a game-tying home run with two outs in the ninth inning to help the Seattle Mariners complete a four-game sweep of the Houston Astros (on the road, no less). The Mariners have to be the luckiest team in baseball this year.
