Stanford running back Bryce Love will not play in the Sun Bowl against Pitt, instead opting to prepare for the NFL Draft. Michael Shapiro of Sports Illustrated has more on the story.

Utah

The Red Rocks are picked No. 2 in the preseason Pac-12 Coaches' Poll announced on Tuesday. Reigning NCAA champ UCLA is projected to win the 2019 Pac-12 title, receiving 49 total points to Utah's 42 points.

Colorado

Colorado lacrosse is receiving some preseason recognition as junior Julia Lisella and senior Miranda Stinson are named Inside Lacrosse Preseason Media All-Americans -- Lisella was named to the first team and Stinson selected to the honorable mention team.

UCLA

We missed this from last week due to other news that came up, but you should know that UCLA men’s basketball freshman Shareef O’Neal underwent successful heart surgery on Thursday (CBS Sports). The plan is for O’Neal to redshirt this year and return to action in 2019-20.

Oregon State

Kylor Kelley blocked a school-record nine shots to help lead Oregon State men’s basketball to an 82-67 win over Pepperdine, and Nick Daschel has the game recap for us in the link.

Arizona State

A tired Arizona State men’s basketball team allowed Vanderbilt to pull away late in an 81-65 loss to the Commodores Monday night in Nashville (AP recap). The Sun Devils pulled within 62-59 in the final four minutes before Vandy padded its lead.
