USC's Rakocevic tabbed men's basketball player of the week

Pac-12 Men's Basketball Player of the Week (1/7/19) - Nick Rakocevic, Jr., F, USC

SAN FRANCISCO - USC’s junior forward Nick Rakocevic earns his first-career Pac-12 Player of the Week award as voted on by media who cover the league.

• Rakocevic averaged 25 points shooting 69.7 percent and 9 rebounds per game in a 82-73 win over CALIFORNIA and a 77-66 victory over STANFORD. He led the Trojans to their first 2-0 start in Conference play since the 2009-10 season and their fourth-straight win overall.

•The 6-11 forward from Chicago, Ill., scored a career-high 27 points, shooting 12-of-14 from the field, with 8 rebounds in the win over the Bears. His 12 field goals is tied for the second-most by a Pac-12 student-athlete this season. He then registered his seventh double-double of the season, the most in the Conference, with 23 points and 10 rebounds in the win over the Cardinal. Rakocevic now ranks first in the Pac-12 in rebounding with 10.1 per game.

• Rakocevic is the first Trojan to win the Pac-12 Player of the Week award this season. USC (9-6) travels to Oregon State (9-4) on Thursday at 8 p.m. PT on ESPNU and Oregon (9-5) on Sunday at 5 p.m. PT on ESPNU.
