OJAI, Calif. - No. 6 seed ARIZONA STATE, No. 9 WASHINGTON STATE and No. 10 ARIZONA posted opening-round victories in the 2019 Pac-12 Women's Tennis Championship at Weil Tennis Academy on Wednesday.

No. 9 WASHINGTON STATE 4, No. 8 COLORADO 0

No. 9 seed Washington State (19-9) made quick work of No. 8 seed Colorado (10-14), 4-0, avenging a 4-3 road loss to the Buffaloes in March.

Tiffany Mylonas and Aneta Miksovska were double winners for WSU as Mylonas teamed with Hikaru Sato at No. 1 doubles and was first off at No. 3 singles, while Miksovska partnered with Michaela Bayerlova for a No. 3 doubles victory and clinched the match at No. 5 singles.

The victory moves the Cougars into the quarterfinals to face No. 1 seed, two-time defending tournament champion and three-time defending Conference champion Stanford on Thursday at 12 p.m. PT.

No. 10 ARIZONA 4, No. 7 UTAH 2

No. 10 seed Arizona (12-11) bounced back from losing the doubles point to post a 4-2 upset of No. 7 Utah (13-11). It marks Arizona's first victory in the women's tournament format (1-2), and also equals the biggest upset in terms of seeding in tourney history along with No. 6 USC's quarterfinal victory over No. 3 Arizona State in 2017.

Emma Wilson provided the Cats' clincher at No. 1, outlasting Utah's Brianna Chisholm in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-3.

The Wildcats advance to the quarterfinals to face No. 2 UCLA at 3 p.m. on Thursday.

No. 6 ARIZONA STATE 4, No. 11 OREGON 0

No. 6 seed Arizona State (13-9) took the doubles point despite Oregon's Rifanty Kahfiani and Paiton Wagner scoring a stunning 6-1 upset - in just 24 minutes - of the nation's No. 1 doubles team in ASU's Lauryn John-Baptiste and Ilze Hattingh.

The Sun Devils quickly evened doubles with a court three victory from Savannah Slaysman and Tereza Kolarova just a minute later, then the No. 2 pair of Sammi Hampton and Samantha Alicea secured the point with a 7-3 tiebreak triumph.

Hampton, Slaysman and Alicea each rolled to straight-sets singles wins on courts 4, 5 and 6, respectively, to give ASU the win over No. 11 seed Oregon (7-16) in its first-round debut after earning tournament byes in 2017 and 2018.
