Day two of the Pac-12 men’s swimming championship ended with a bang as CALIFORNIA swept two events, posted two national-bests, and took home its second relay title of the week. STANFORD’s Grant Shoult added on to the excitement, earning his third 500-yard freestyle title with the 12th-fastest time in the nation. 

500-yard Freestyle
• Stanford’s Grant Shoults took first place in the 500-yard freestyle  with a time of 4:12.45, the 12th fastest time in the country
• Cal’s Trenton Julian trailed close behind finishing in second, recording the 13th fastest time in the country (4:12.77).
• Brooks Fail of ARIZONA recorded a 4.13.08 mark to claim third place.
• All three times were good for NCAA ‘B’ Cuts.  

200-yard Individual Medley 
• California’s Daniel Carr earned his second title of the meet in the 200-yard IM with the second-fastest time in the country, also the fastest time the league has seen this season (1:41.79).
• Fellow Bears Zhen Quah  (1:42.93) and Bryce Mefford (1.43.57) took second and third, respectively posting the second- and third-fastest times in the Conference this year.
• All three times were good for NCAA ‘B’ Cuts. 

50-yard Freestyle 
• California's Ryan Hoffer led the pack as the Bears swept its second event of the day, recording the nation’s fastest 50 relay time in the country (18.87).
• Pawel Sendyk continued the Bears’ success coming in second with the second-fastest time in the country and the Conference with an 18.91 mark.
• Cal’s Michael Jensen’s claimed third place with a time of 19.38, the fifth-best in the league.
• Hoffer and Sendyk’s times earned them NCAA ‘A’ cuts and Jensen’s was good for a ‘B’ cut. 

200-yard Freestyle Relay 
• Bears Quah, Hoffer, Sendyk, and Jensen defended California’s 200-yard freestyle relay title with the fastest time in the country (1:15.54), tying the Pac-12 Championship record.
• Arizona’s Marin Ercegovic, Thomas Anderson, Jorge Iga, and Noah Reid took second with league’s third-fastest time this season (1:16.33).
• Carter Swift, Even Carlson, Cody Bybee, and Jack Dolan of ARIZONA STATE claimed third place with a mark of 1:16.79.
• The top three times were good for NCAA ‘A’ marks.

The 2020 Pac-12 Men's Swimming Championship will continue tomorrow and will feature the 400-yard Individual Medley, 100-yard Butterfly, 200-yard Freestyle, 100-yard Breastroke, 100-yard backstroke and the 200-yard Medley Relay.
