Ruffels Among 30 Golfers On Annika Award Preseason Watch List

USC senior Gabriela Ruffels, who just wrapped an incredible summer that saw her repeat as a U.S. Amateur finalist and compete in three LPGA events, is among 30 golfers selected to this season's Annika Award Preseason Watchlist.
 
Ruffels tied for 15th at the ANA Inspiration earlier this month and also just missed cuts at the Women's British Open and last week's Portland Classic. Earlier in the summer Ruffels came within a hole of repeating as the U.S. Women's Amateur champion, falling in the 38th hole of the final.
 
Ranked No. 9 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings, Ruffels closed her 2020 junior season on a hot streak, winning the Rebel Beach Intercollegiate at 9-under 207 (68-68-71) for her second career collegiate title. That followed a tie for 12th at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at par 213 (75-71-67).
 
She wrapped spring play with four straight rounds under par and five in a row of par or better. She had three top 20 finishes in the shortened season, posting a 72.47 stroke average with three rounds in the 60s.
