Yuxin Lin Named To Haskins Award Preseason Watch List

Trojan sophomore Yuxin "Elvis" Lin, coming off of an All-American freshman season, is among 30 golfers selected to this season's The Haskins Award Preseason Watch List.
 
Lin, from Beijing, China, is one of the top amateurs in the world, currently ranked No. 36 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and figures to start for his second straight season for the Trojans.
 
He earned GCAA All-American third team and All-West Region honors last season during a campaign that saw him co-lead USC with a 70.67 stroke average, post a team-best four top 15 finishes, finish second on the team with seven rounds in the 60s and register the squad's only first.
 
His co-medalist honor came in the season-finale where he led Troy to its first win of the season at the Southern Highlands Collegiate at 8-under 208 (67-67-75) before falling in a playoff.
 
He was among USC's top two finishers in all five of his starts, which included a tie for 12th at the Maui Jim at 7-under 203 (66-68-69), a tie for 14th at the Southwestern Invitational at 1-over 217 (78-70-69) and a tie for 14th at the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate at 1-over 217 (67-78-72).
