1990 - Volleyball Rolls Past No. 20 Wyoming
On Nov. 1, 1990, the San Diego State women's volleyball team posted its third victory of a five-match winning streak with a three-set triumph over 20th-ranked Wyoming, 15-10, 15-7, 15-10, inside Peterson Gym. Fresh off a pair of wins over UC Irvine (3-1) and Cal State Northridge, the Aztecs kept the momentum rolling against the Cowgirls, as three players posted double-digit kill totals. Gracie Schutt (18 kills, 11 digs) and Angela Martin (12 kills, 11 digs) each recorded a double-double, while Shannon Mathew hit a crisp .524 with 13 kills, committing just two errors in 24 attempts. Not be outdone, Jennifer Miller (.615, 8-0-13) and Dena Jones (.600, 6-0-10) were both spotless on the attack, while Pam Hope handed out 46 assists.

As a team, SDSU outhit Wyoming .382 to .230, maintaining a distinct advantage in kills (57-41) and digs (49-33). The Aztecs finished the 1990 campaign with a 24-12 overall record and a No. 19 ranking in the AVCA Coaches Poll after falling 3-1 to Stanford in the NCAA West Regional semifinals. Individually, Martin was a second-team AVCA All-West Region honoree, joining Schutt and Miller as second-team All-WAC selections, too.
