Oct. 27

2006 - Men's Soccer Downs No. 6 California, 3-1
The San Diego State men's soccer team scored the first three goals of the game en route to a 3-1 win over No. 6 California October 27, 2006 at the SDSU Sports Deck. With the win, the Aztecs improved to 6-3-3 over their previous 12 matches, including a 3-2-0 record against nationally ranked opponents. 

Junior Kraig Chiles scored twice and freshman Nick Cardenas added a goal for the Aztecs, who controlled play from the kick off and had numerous scoring chances throughout the match. Cardenas would score the lone goal in SDSU's next match, a 1-0 win over Stanford and was named the Pac-10 Player of the Week.

Senior All-American goalkeeper Tally Hall played all 90 minutes in net for the Aztecs and made four saves.

Oct. 30

1976 - Douglass Powers Football Past UTEP, 27-16
Mike Douglass came up with a school-record five sacks in San Diego State's 27-16 win at UTEP on Oct. 30, 1976. The five sacks still stand as the most in program history and, according to the NCAA record books, only four players have had more in a single game. Douglass finished with a SDSU single-season record 21 sacks on the year and ranks second all-time with 26 career sacks.

1964 - Garrison Leads Football Past Fresno State, 44-6
Gary Garrison caught 11 passes for 289 yards and four touchdowns to lead San Diego State to a 44-6 win over Fresno State on Oct. 31, 1964. The four touchdown receptions and 289 yards were each school records at the time and still rank tied for second and fourth, respectively. Garrison finished his junior season with 78 catches for 1,272 yards and 15 touchdowns.

Nov. 1

1990 - Volleyball Rolls Past No. 20 Wyoming
On Nov. 1, 1990, the San Diego State women's volleyball team posted its third victory of a five-match winning streak with a three-set triumph over 20th-ranked Wyoming, 15-10, 15-7, 15-10, inside Peterson Gym. Fresh off a pair of wins over UC Irvine (3-1) and Cal State Northridge, the Aztecs kept the momentum rolling against the Cowgirls, as three players posted double-digit kill totals. Gracie Schutt (18 kills, 11 digs) and Angela Martin (12 kills, 11 digs) each recorded a double-double, while Shannon Mathew hit a crisp .524 with 13 kills, committing just two errors in 24 attempts. Not be outdone, Jennifer Miller (.615, 8-0-13) and Dena Jones (.600, 6-0-10) were both spotless on the attack, while Pam Hope handed out 46 assists.

As a team, SDSU outhit Wyoming .382 to .230, maintaining a distinct advantage in kills (57-41) and digs (49-33). The Aztecs finished the 1990 campaign with a 24-12 overall record and a No. 19 ranking in the AVCA Coaches Poll after falling 3-1 to Stanford in the NCAA West Regional semifinals. Individually, Martin was a second-team AVCA All-West Region honoree, joining Schutt and Miller as second-team All-WAC selections, too.
