Pac-12 Release

San Francisco, Calif. – The UCLA Women's Basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the Pac-12 according to preseason polls from media members and the league's head coaches, the Conference announced Tuesday.

The Bruins checked in fourth on both polls after a 2019-20 season that saw them go 26-5 overall and 14-4 in Pac-12 play, good for second place in the Conference regular season standings. The team was also picked to finish fourth in the league by Pac-12 head coaches last year, as the Bruins surpassed their preseason prediction by two spots. UCLA advanced to the semifinals of the Pac-12 Tournament and was on track to host the first two rounds of the NCAA Tournament before National Tournament was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stanford was picked to win the Conference on both polls while Arizona and Oregon took the second and third spots, respectively, on both rankings.

The Pac-12 released the results of these preseason polls ahead of its virtual Media Day festivities. The Michael Price Family UCLA Women's Head Basketball Coach Cori Close and AP Preseason All-American Michaela Onyenwere will be representing the Bruins at Pac-12 Media Day, with the pair joining representatives from Washington and Arizona State in a roundtable discussion hosted by Ros Gold-Onwude. The Bruins' segment broadcast live at 3:30 p.m. PT on Pac-12 Network and the Pac-12 Now app.
