Women’s Basketball Program Pausing Activities Due to COVID-19

Nov 23, 2020

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The University of Utah women's basketball program will pause all basketball activities for the time being due to a COVID-19 positive case and resulting isolation of additional student-athletes under contact tracing protocols.

The Utes were scheduled to open the season with two home games this week, on Wednesday, Nov. 25, vs. Southern Utah, and Saturday, Nov. 28, vs. Utah Valley. After consultation with our medical professionals, and out of an abundance of caution, those games will not be played, and the teams' situation will be evaluated after that.

Our top priority is the health and safety of our student-athletes, and all of our decisions will be guided by that principle.
