Oregon State Wrestling Adds 10th Signee

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State wrestling head coach Chris Pendleton announced Wednesday that two-time state champion Asher Ruchti (pronounced Rucktee) has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the program for the 2021-22 season.
 
A Springfield, Ore., native, the 6-foot-1 Ruchti is expected to wrestle at 184 pounds for the Beavers.
 
He lettered two years for Pleasant Hill High School (126 and 160 pounds) and at Thurston High School (152) pounds as a junior. Over three years, he combined for a 118-9 overall record and won two state titles.
 
He was the Class 5A state champ as a junior, and ended his season with a 43-1 overall record.
 
Ruchti was the Class 3A state champ as a sophomore at 160 pounds, going 39-3 overall. He was also the Triple Crown State Champion that year.
 
He opened his high school career with a 36-5 record and fourth-place Class 3A finish his freshman year.
 
Ruchti joins a signing class that includes nine student-athletes who joined the program in early November.
