CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Oregon State Men's basketball team fell 76-73 to Wyoming Sunday at Gill Coliseum.

Senior guard Ethan Thompson got off to a hot start, leading the team with 11 points at the first media timeout. He finished the game as OSU's leading scorer with 20 points, adding four rebounds and two assists while going 10-for-13 from the line.

The Beaver bench led the way during the first half, combining to score 29 points. The team shot 16-for-20 from the free throw line in the opening 20 minutes, and Oregon State used a Gianni Hunt buzzer-beating three pointer to take a 48-42 lead into the break.

As the second half progressed, it was more of the same from Wayne Tinkle's Oregon State Beavers. The lead continued to grow, and by the mid-way point of the second half it reached double digits. Wyoming battled back, eventually taking the lead with less than a minute remaining in the game.

Oregon State shot 36 percent from the field and made seven three pointers, also making 26 of their 33 free throw attempts. The Beavers held the lead for over 33 minutes, and the 73-point outburst is a season high versus Division-I competition.

Dearon Tucker had a big game, scoring 16 points while shooting 4-4 from the field and making all eight of his free throws. He added six rebounds and three blocks in 21 minutes of action, and he set career-high marks in minutes played, points and rebounds. Hunt added ten points, three rebounds and four assists, and his two steals tied him for the team lead.

The Beavers will be back at Gill Coliseum Thursday to host Portland.
