Card Cruises Past NC A&T

GREENSBORO, N.C. – On the road for the fourth-consecutive game in North Carolina, and for the first time in program history at a historically black college or university (HBCU), Stanford men's basketball rolled to a 78-46 victory over North Carolina A&T on Sunday afternoon.

Senior Oscar da Silva led the Cardinal (2-2) with 26 points in 24 minutes, finishing one point short of his career-high, to go along with eight rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. Senior Daejon Davis pitched in nine points and seven rebounds, while freshman Ziaire Williams and sophomore James Keefe each set a new career-best with 10 rebounds. 11 different players scored for Stanford.

Stanford exploded out of the gate to an early 20-3 advantage, including consecutive 3-pointers from sophomore Spencer Jones and a triple from freshman Michael O'Connell to cap a 14-0 run. The Aggies (2-4) closed the gap to eight points at halftime, 31-23.

The Cardinal outscored the Aggies 47-23 in the second half, as 15 players saw the floor. Redshirt freshman Neal Begovich scored the first points of his career late in the second half, drilling his attempt from 3-point range on the left wing.

Controlling the glass, Stanford's 58 rebounds were its most since it secured 51 a year ago against Oklahoma. With the win, Stanford moved to 2-0 all-time against NC A&T, and 12-0 all-time against HBCUs.

Stanford is slated to travel to USC for a Sunday, Dec. 13 tilt in Los Angeles on FS1. Additional scheduling updates will be provided as they become available.
