Dec 21, 2020

SAN FRANCISCO – Oregon women's basketball's Sydney Parrish has been named the Pac-12 freshman of the week for her impressive performance in Saturday's win at Washington, the league office announced on Monday.

Parrish led the Ducks to a 73-49 victory over the Huskies in Seattle with a career-high 18 points, going 7-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-8 from three-point range. The Fishers, Ind., native took over in the fourth quarter with 12 of Oregon's 21 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

Parrish is the first Duck to win a conference weekly honor this season, and the 10th player in program history to receive Pac-12 freshman of the week honors.

The announcement was made following No. 8 Oregon's 69-65 comeback win at Washington State on Monday afternoon. Parrish finished with three points and two blocked shots as the Ducks improved to 7-0 overall and 5-0 in conference play to open the season.
