ORLANDO, Fla. - Sophomore Emma Spitz earned three points for Team International, which defeated Team USA by a score of 40.5-19.5 to retain the Arnold Palmer Cup. The event was held Monday through Wednesday at the Bay Hill Club and Lodge.

Each team consists of 12 female and 12 male collegiate/university golfers. The three-day annual event features mixed fourball on day one, foursomes and mixed foursomes on day two and singles on day three.

After falling with her partner in mixed fourball on Monday, Spitz (with Pauline Roussin-Bouchard) defeated Jaime Jacob and Rachel Kuehn, 3&2, in Tuesday morning's foursomes. The rising UCLA sophomore earned another point for the International squad Tuesday afternoon in mixed foursomes (with Matthias Schmid) in a 2-up victory over Jonathan Brightwell and Kenzie Wright.

On Wednesday in singles action, Spitz defeated Wright, 1-up. The match, which started on the back nine, was tied after four holes. But Spitz won the fifth hole (No. 15) and never trailed again, leading by as much as 4-up.
