USC Men’s Basketball Now Will Host Santa Clara On Dec. 29 After LMU Cancels Due To COVID

Dec 26, 2020

Full 2020-21 Schedule

LOS ANGELES — The opponent for the USC men's basketball non-conference home game this Tuesday (Dec. 29) has been changed to Santa Clara after original opponent Loyola Marymount had to cancel due to COVID-related issues in its program.

The tipoff time will remain at 4 p.m. PT in the Galen Center and the game will air on Pac-12 Network.

Santa Clara is 6-1 overall. USC has a 4-1 overall record.

The Trojans last played on Dec. 8, a 91-56 home victory over UC Irvine. Their past 4 scheduled games have been either postponed (Dec. 13 vs. Stanford and Dec. 20 at Oregon State) or canceled (Dec. 16 vs. San Francisco and Dec. 23 vs. Texas Southern) due to a confirmed case of COVID-19 within the USC men's basketball program that caused team activities to be paused beginning on Dec. 13. Practice will resume on Sunday (Dec. 27).

Following the Santa Clara contest, USC hosts a pair of previously-scheduled Pac-12 games this week in the Galen Center: against Colorado on Dec. 31 at 6 p.m. PT and Utah on Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. PT.
