BERKELEY – The California baseball program will host its annual For the Love of the Game celebration in a virtual format on Friday, February 5 at 7 p.m. PT. Registration is free to all attendees. To register for the virtual event, click here.

Though normally held in an in-person setting, the celebration will be virtual this year due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The program will include an introduction of the 2021 Golden Bears roster, a fireside chat with Bob Melvin (Oakland A's) and Dusty Baker (Houston Astros), a 10-year anniversary celebration of Cal's 2011 College World Series team, an alumni recognition and special appreciation of the Oakland A's as well as a live auction and the Annual Fund Drive.

"While we'd usually host our annual For the Love of the Game celebration in person, our program is still thrilled to bring our Cal Baseball friends and family together virtually on Feb. 5," said Cal Baseball head coach Mike Neu. "The celebration is one of our favorite events of the year and this edition will be no exception. We're thankful for the support of our Cal Family as we gear up for the 2021 season, and we can't wait to see you all virtually."

All funds raised during the celebration will benefit the Cal Baseball Annual Fund. If you're unable to attend the event on Feb. 5, please consider making a gift to the Cal Baseball Annual Fund by clicking here. Questions about the event can be directed to Lindsey Scott-Anderson at l.anderson@berkeley.edu.
