Baker Jr. Out For Season After Wrist Injury

TUCSON, Ariz. - Arizona redshirt junior guard Jemarl Baker Jr. suffered a broken bone in his wrist on Jan. 9 against UCLA and will miss the remainder of the 2020-21 season. He is scheduled to have surgery on Jan. 13.

Baker is in his second season with the Wildcats after spending his first two years at the University of Kentucky. This year, Baker had shown great strides in his development, averaging 12.0 points, 2.8 rebounds and registering 21 assists to just 12 turnovers. He was shooting 40.3 percent from the floor and 34.3 percent from the 3-point line. He scored 33 points against Stanford and 29 points against Northern Arizona earlier this season.
