UW Rowers Excel In Classroom During Fall Quarter

Jan 12, 2021

With all of the challenges of laid at the feet of students all over the world during the last year, the academic success of Washington rowers during the fall, 2020, quarter are all the more impressive than normal.

UW rowers have long made their families,  coaches, teammates, and alumni proud with their consistent achievement on the water and in the classroom, but last fall's performance raised the bar further still.

Washington's women's rowing team earned a collective grade point average of 3.46 for the quarter, with men compiled a 3.43 team GPA.

Collectively, the two teams had 50 student-athletes earn a place on the Dean's List for the quarter. To make the Dean's List, a student must score a GPA of 3.5 or higher while taking 12 numerically graded classes.

Finally, at the top of the list of scholastic accomplishments were the three members of the women's team who finished the quarter with a perfect 4.00 grade point average: freshman Wen Eckelberg, junior Brittani Shappell and senior Ava Trogus.
