It feels too good to be true, but I'm here to announce, the Utah Softball team is back at it!

Most of our team is here on campus, has been COVID tested and cleared, and we are beginning practice TODAY!

As my 15-year-old (who just received her driver's permit) drove to school this morning, she asked me one simple question..."are you excited to start practice today?" I hesitated for a long enough time before I answered her question.

That hesitation prompted me to have a lengthy discussion with our team this morning as to why it's OK to have several feelings surrounding today's activities. Excited is one of the feelings I have, but there are many more for me and this team.

We understand the privilege that we have been given at this time to safely play the game we love so much. We also understand that many others aren't as lucky. We discussed this morning about being grateful for every chance that we get and empathetic for those that aren't in the same situation as us.

Our goal is to continue each day to prepare for what we are hoping is a full season of games.

We will take it one day at a time and we hope you will continue to follow along with us on our journey.

I'll send another update each week this month and then the newsletters will continue through the season as normal.

I know several of you are anxious for a schedule, so we will do our best to get that to you soon!

More updates next week...thanks for following this group...we hope hearing from us brings some joy to your day!

Go Utes!
