Three Pro Bears Swim At TYR Pro Series Event

2021 TYR Pro Swim Series Results (San Antonio)

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Three former California swimmers kicked off the 2021 calendar year by competing in the TYR Pro Swim Series event at the North East ISD Blossom Athletic Complex in San Antonio on Jan. 14-17.
 
Cal alumni and current U.S. National Team members Ryan Murphy, Andrew Seliskar and Tom Shields swam in eight total events. Full results from the four-day event can be viewed here. Due to COVID-19-related restrictions, the event was held at multiple sites in both San Antonio and Richmond, Virginia while complying with numerous local, state and federal health guidelines.
 
Murphy swam the fastest 100-meter backstroke in San Antonio, clocking in at 53.55. The mark was the second fastest in the overall event (Justin Ress, 53.37 in Richmond). Murphy then followed it up with a win in the 200m back (1:56.82). Seliskar swam in six total events (100m free, 200m free, 100m fly, 200m fly, 200m breast, 200m IM) while Shields focused on the 100m fly and 200m fly events.
