Charisma Osborne Named UCLA Student-Athlete of Week

Jan 26, 2021

Sophomore guard Charisma Osborne of the UCLA women's basketball team has been selected the UCLA Student-Athlete of the Week, presented by Ready, earning honors for Jan. 18-24.

Osborne put up 24 points in UCLA's victory over then-No. 5 Stanford on Friday, Jan. 22, including the go-ahead free throws to break the 66-66 deadlock with 1:23 to play. It was her fourth-consecutive 20+ point performance, as well her fourth-straight game with at least three three-pointers. The Moreno Valley, Calif., native grabbed a season-high nine rebounds in the victory, including five on the offensive glass. Her o-board off of Michaela Onyenwere's free throw miss with seven seconds left proved to be decisive, as she secured the ball and ran out the clock to give UCLA the 70-66 victory. Osborne also talled a season-high three steals and recorded one block on the night. She was named Pac-12 Player of the Week on Monday for her performance, her second such accolade of the season.

This is Osborne's second UCLA student-athlete of the week award of the season and second of her career.
