Drews Named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week

SALT LAKE CITY – The Pac-12 announced that Dani Drews has earned the first Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week award this season.
 
The Utes got off to a great start winning both its matches against Arizona with two sweeps.
 
Drews was very efficient this past weekend with 28 kills hitting .317. She averaged 4.67 kills per set and 5.42 points per set. She led the team in both matches with 15 and 13 kills. She also was strong on defense having a double-double with 12 digs in the first match and totaled nine digs in the second match.

This is the third weekly award Drews has won in her career. 
 
The team took command of Arizona early in both matches to move to 2-0 to start their season. Utah will now be on the road these next couple of weeks. First, they will travel to Cal to take on the Golden Bears this Friday and Sunday.

This spring Utah and Pac-12 volleyball are playing a conference only season with 22 matches leading up to the NCAA Championships starting with the selection show on Sunday, April 4.

Utah came in ranked eighth in the latest AVCA rankings this week after being ranked 10th in the preseason rankings.
