"As a whole, we did a lot of things really well today," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "From tee to green this team can compete with anyone. We are going to make our biggest strides by cleaning up the execution around the green and having great speed on our putts.

"As we get some more practice in and get more competitive reps, I'm confident the small errors will get cleaned up. This group works so hard and loves to compete. I'm excited for what lies ahead beginning tomorrow."

Tibbits, a senior from Vancouver, Wash., is tied for sixth place in the 96-player field with a 1-under 73-68--141. He has now fired 43 sub-par rounds in his Oregon State career and will go for his 12th top-10 finish as a collegian.
