Utah LAX Reveals 2021 Slate

Jan 26, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY – The 2021 Utah lacrosse schedule was finally unveiled Tuesday afternoon and features 12 contests, including three homes matches, as head coach Brian Holman leads his team into its third season at the Division I level after last spring's season was cut short due to COVID-19.

The Utes open the 2021 campaign with four-straight road games starting with Denver this Saturday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m. (MT). Saturday's contest will serve as the season-opener for both the Utes and Pioneers at Peter Barton Lacrosse Stadium.

The following weekend, the Utes head to Louisville, Ky., for a bout against Bellarmine inside Frazier Stadium before taking on Air Force (Feb. 20). Utah rounds out the season-opening road swing at Loyola on Saturday, Feb. 27.

Holman and company welcome in Jacksonville on Saturday, March 6, for their home-opener and then entertains a familiar opponent in Westminster the following Saturday on March 13. Face off for both home matches slated for 1 p.m.

Utah will then embark on another four-match road swing beginning with Mercer (March 27), who it defeated in the program's first year at the Division I level 13-9. The Utes then fly to Beantown the following week to face Boston University (April 3) before facing against an ACC power in Virginia on April 17. The team then closes the month-long road swing at Cleveland State on April 24.

The final home match of the 2021 campaign takes place on Saturday, May 1, against newly independent Robert Morris. Utah concludes the regular-season on the road, playing inside the famed Carrier Dome on April 8 against another top ACC team in Syracuse.

Due to COVID-19, times and dates for all matches are subject to change while spectator attendance is subject to university, local and state health guidelines of each host institution.
