The Ducks beat both the Vikings and the Vandals last season, winning 6-2 over Portland State in the second dual match of 2020 and 5-2 in a home match against Idaho last February.

Oregon is coming off of a close loss in the season opener at Gonzaga, in which they won the doubles point but dropped four of the six singles matches to lose, 4-3.

Janice Tjen and Uxia Martinez Moral provided the bright spots in Oregon's first dual match in over 10 months, having a hand in each of the Ducks' four match victories on Saturday. Tjen won her doubles match paired with Lillian Mould, then went on to take her singles' match, 6-2, 7-6 (1), to cap off a perfect day in her collegiate debut. Martinez Moral won in doubles with Rifanty Kahfiani, then took her singles match, 7-5, 6-2, on the No. 5 court.

The rest of the Ducks, however, couldn't capitalize on the momentum built by winning the doubles point. The remaining four fell behind early in their opening sets and couldn't recover, as all four fell in straight sets. After falling into an early hole in her second set, Kahfiani cut her deficit to 4-3, but dropped the next two games to lose, 6-2, 6-3, and clinch the match for Gonzaga.
