No. 8 Volleyball Sweeps Arizona State

TEMPE, Ariz. – The No. 8 Utah volleyball team handled its business on Sunday against Arizona State sweeping them to move to 6-0 on the season at Wells Fargo Arena.
 
Overall, the team hit .317 only making 12 errors on 101 swings.
 
Dani Drews was sensational again finishing with 20 kills hitting .366 while also having eight digs, 3.0 blocks and a service ace. On the weekend, she had 51 kills hitting .358.
 
Zoe Weatherington finished with nine kills and Kenzie Koerber chipped in with seven. Koerber also had nine digs, three aces, 2.0 blocks and an assist.
 
Utah grabbed the momentum early in this match and never let go of it. They went up by five and rarely let the Sun Devils get much closer than that. A block by Koerber and Phoebe Grace and then a kill from Koerber put Utah up 1-0.
 
In the second set, Utah built another lead 14-8 and closed the door after that. They led by as many as nine before taking tge set 25-17. The team hit .400 in the second set.
 
With the chance at another sweep, the Utes built a 10-1 lead and then cruised the rest of the way closing out the match in straight sets.
 
Saige Ka'aha'aina-Torres had 28 assists and 14 digs. Emily Smith saw some time at setter and finished the day with seven assists and one dig.
 
Vanessa Ramirez had eight digs and four assists. Megan Yett finished the match with 12 digs of her own.
 
Sommer Daniel came in and served tough having an ace.
 
Utah continued to serve really well with seven aces on the afternoon.
 
After being on the road the last couple of weekends, the Utes will now get to play at home the next two weeks. First, they will host the USC Trojans on Friday and Sunday. The Friday match will begin at 3 p.m. on Pac-12 Network.
