Bruins Complete Round One at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, Calif. - Three of five Bruins recorded a pair of birdies in the opening round of The Prestige on Monday at the Greg Norman Course at PGA WEST. As a team, UCLA shot a 299 (+15).

Senior Devon Bling had the low round of the day for UCLA, shooting a 2-over 73 (T-53). He made a pair of birdies on the par-4 ninth and 11th holes, adding two bogeys and a double.

Juniors Ahmed Ali and Bryan Wiyang Teoh are both tied for 83rd after each shot 4-over 75s. Teoh made birdies on the par-4 fifth and ninth holes to go with two bogeys and two doubles, while Ali had a birdie on the par-3 13th, three bogeys and a double. Sophomore Mason Greene recorded a birdie on the par-5 12th and six bogeys in a 5-over 76 (T-95). Freshman Ty Griggs finished his round with back-to-back birdies on the par-5 eighth and par-4 ninth holes, adding seven bogeys and four doubles in an 84 (+13, 120th).

The Bruins' second round on Tuesday will begin at 11 a.m. off the first tee in the order of Greene, Griggs, Teoh, Ali and Bling. Live scoring will be available here.
