TEMPE, Ariz. - The top-ranked Bruins strung together three hits in their final at-bat in an attempted rally against No. 8 Oregon on Sunday, but it fell short, as UCLA dropped a 3-1 decision at Farrington Stadium.

Sophomore Megan Faraimo (4-1) struck out seven in six innings, allowing three runs, six hits and two walks. She struck out a pair in the fourth and the side in the sixth. Six different players accounted for UCLA's six hits.

Oregon (8-0) scored single runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth before UCLA (6-1) rallied in the top of the seventh.

With one out, freshman Maya Brady doubled to left and scored on a single through the 3-4 hole by sophomore Anna Vines to make it 3-1. The Bruins would end up loading the bases after freshman Alyssa Garcia singled and junior Kinsley Washington was hit by a pitch, but a pair of strikeouts for the Ducks ended UCLA's comeback bid.

The Bruins play twice on Monday, facing Oregon again at 10 a.m. PT followed by a matchup with Utah at 1 p.m. PT. A live stream will be available for both matches, with the link on the softball schedule page.
