Beavers Set for Pac-12 Tournament

THE GAME: The Oregon State women's basketball team is scheduled to face California Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the first round of the Pac-12 Tournament.

WHAT'S UP NEXT: With a win on Wednesday, the Beavers would advance to the quarterfinals of the Pac-12 Tournament and would face Oregon Thursday at 11 a.m.

THE OPPONENT: Oregon State is 38-38 all-time against California. The Beavers have won 10-straight against the Golden Bears. This will be the first matchup between the two teams this season.

QUICK HITTERS: 
- The Beavers are receiving votes in this week's AP Poll
- Oregon State has scored first in 12 of its 15 games this season.
- Over its last seven games, Oregon State has shot 49.9 percent from the floor, while holding its opponents to 36.9 percent shooting.

- The Beavers are one of eight teams in the nation to make each of the last four Sweet 16's, joining UConn, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Baylor, Stanford, UCLA and Mississippi State.
- Oregon State leads the nation in 3-point percentage.
- The Beavers are 15th in the nation and second in the Pac-12 in blocked shots per game this season.
- Oregon State is also ninth nationally in defensive rebounds per game, and 20th nationally in assists per game.
- OSU's 23 wins last season was tied for the eighth-best total in program history, despite the NCAA Tournament being cancelled.
- Oregon State notched the 15th 20-win season in program history last season, and its seventh-straight 20-victory campaign. The Beavers have reached the 20-win mark eight times in Scott Rueck's 10 seasons as head coach.
- The Beavers have earned 11 wins over top-10 opponents since the start of 2014-15.
- Oregon State has been selected to host an NCAA Regional at Moda Center in Portland in 2024. The Beavers also hosted a 2019 Regional, and were slated to host another in 2020 prior to the cancellation of the NCAA Tournament.
- On Jan. 15, Oregon State announced that freshman Talia von Oelhoffen had graduated high school early and would join the team for a portion of the 2020-21 season.
- Oregon State alum Sydney Wiese has been selected to join USA Basketball for February camp in South Carolina.
- Oregon State signee Greta Kampschroeder was selected as a McDonald's All-American. The Beavers have now had a McDonald's All-American in their last three signing classes (Kennedy Brown - 2019; Sasha Goforth - 2020; Greta Kampschroeder - 2021).

GREAT SCOTT: Scott Rueck Quick Hitters 
- Was chosen as a semifinalist for Naismith Coach of the Year last season.
- Inked a contract extension last offseason that runs through the 2027-28 season.
- 2017 John R. Wooden Pac-12 Coach of the Year, becoming one of five coaches in conference history to win the honor multiple times.
- Record at Oregon State is 237-112 making him the second-winningest coach in Oregon State history. Aki Hill holds the Oregon State wins record with 274.
- Rueck engineered an accelerated turnaround at Oregon State, bringing the program into national prominence during his eight seasons as head coach.
- Prior to joining Oregon State, Rueck served as head coach at George Fox in Newberg, Ore., where he built the program into a Division III national power, winning an NCAA title in 2009.
- Rueck's teams have consistently been known for outstanding defense. The Beavers have allowed 58.3 points per game over the course of his tenure. George Fox allowed just 48.3 points per contest in 2009-10, Rueck's final year there, and set a school record with 45.4 points allowed under Rueck in 2007-08.
- Graduated from Oregon State in 1991.

- Earned Pac-12 Freshman of the Week honors twice this season. She joins Jamie Weisner, Sydney Wiese, Mikalya Pivec and Taylor Jones as Beavers to win that award multiple times since it was instated (2012-13)
- Scored in double-figures in each of her first four collegiate games, the first freshman in the Scott Rueck era to accomplish that feat.

- Invited to Jordan Brand Classic
- Five-star recruit and the No. 7 rated player in the nation according to Blue Star Basketball at time of signing.

I TALIA YOU WHAT: Talia von Oelhoffen Quick Hitters
- Pac-12 All-Freshman Honorable Mention
- Pac-12 Freshman of the Week on Feb. 22.
- Has scored at least six points in all eight of her games with the Beavers, including six double-figure scoring games.
- Is shooting 47.0 percent on the season
- Joined the Beavers in January after graduating high school early and signing a National Letter of Intent in November.
- Naismith High School Player of the Year Midseason Top-25
- Three-time Adidas All-American
- Scored 2,392 points in three season of high school basketball, placing her on pace to become the leading scorer in Washington history had she been able to play a senior season. 

SAY TAY KID: Taya Corosdale Quick Hitters
- Scored a career-high 16 points vs. Washington.
- Returned to the starting lineup this year, after missing almost all of the 2019-20 campaign due to injury.
- 47 of her 67 shots this season have come from beyond the arc.
- Pac-12 Academic Honorable Mention last season
- Averaged 7.8 rebounds per game during Pac-12 play as sophomore
- Played all 125 minutes in the Beavers' 2019 NCAA Tournament run.
- The Beavers are 37-10 in games where Corosdale hits a 3-pointer, and 20-4 when she hits two or more.
- Jordan Brand Classic All-American in high school.
- Two-time King County League MVP
- Earned a five-star rating from ESPN, and was ranked the No. 6 forward in her signing class.
- Two-time All-State selection in Washington.

MACK ATTACK: Ellie Mack Quick Hitters
- Came to the Beavers as a graduate transfer from Bucknell and was eligible to play immediately
- Has made 12 of her last 22 3-point attempts
- Has 18 assists over her last six games
- Started her first 15 games as a Beaver.
- Dished out seven assists vs. San Francisco
- Was the Patriot League Player of the Year in 2019-20
- Two-time All-Patriot League selection
- Averaged 15.0 points and 7.3 rebounds per game last season at Bucknell
- Shot 43.2 percent from 3-point range last season, good for second in the Patriot League
- Shot 50.7 percent from the floor last season, good for fifth in the conference
- Is a career 40.2 percent shooter from beyond the arc.

AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE: Jasmine Simmons Quick Hitters
- Started the season with back-to-back double-figure scoring games.
- Is averaging 3.5 points and 2.6 rebounds through the first 15 games of the season, after posting 2.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest in 2019-20
- Played a career-high 32 minutes vs. Washington State on Jan. 24.
- Is shooting 53.1 percent from the floor this season.
- Is 7-for-15 from beyond the arc on the season.
- Helped Australia win the World University Games in 2019
- Led Australia to a FIBA U-17 World Championship, serving as team captain. She made the All-Star Starting Five at the event.
- Earned a silver medal representing Australia at the 3x3 Championships.
- Was the No. 7 rated international recruit in her signing class.
- Enjoys playing guitar.

SERBIAN SURGE: Jelena Mitrovic Quick Hitters
- Has appeared in all 15 games this season after missing all of 2019-20 due to injury.
- Is 11-for-22 from the floor over the Beavers' last eight games.
- Is shooting 54.7 percent from 2-point range this season
- Is tied for third on the team with 10 blocks.
- No. 3 rated European prospect in her age group
- Top Scorer and Team MVP of the U18 national champions in Serbia
- Averaged 11.7 points and 11.3 rebounds per game at the 2018 European Championships
- Brother Luka is a professional basketball player. 

YO JO: Jovana Subasic Quick Hitters
- Joined the Beavers as a graduate transfer from Washington State is immediately eligible to play
- Has seen action in three of the Beavers' last seven games.
- Played in 31 games for the Cougars last season, making eight starts over the final 10 games of the season.
- Led WSU in blocks (30) and 3-point field goal percentage (40.0%)
- Scored 12 points on 6-for-10 shooting in her one game at Gill Coliseum last season.
- Competed for Serbia in the European Championships at the U-20, U-18 and U-16 levels, as well as the U-19 World Championships.

24-SAVANNAH: Savannah Samuel Quick Hitters
- Has scored in double-figures twice in her last 11 games.
- Scored seven points vs. Stanford, her highest output over the last nine games.
- Blocked three shots vs. Oregon.
- Helped lead FBC United to a Prime Event 17U National Championship and a Girls Under Armour 17U National title
- Was 6A Regional Player of the Year her sophomore year of high school
- First Team Atlanta Tip Off her junior season
- Led her team to state final four appearances in her freshman and junior seasons
- Made the honor roll in each of her high school years.

SHE'S THE MANNEN: Noelle Mannen Quick Hitters
- Walked on at Oregon State last summer, after attending the University of San Francisco in 2018-19 (did not play basketball)
- Has appeared six games this season.
- Scored her first points of the season vs. Arizona on Jan. 17
- Scored 10 points on 3-for-4 shooting vs. Southern Utah last season.
- First Team All-Oregon her senior season at Valley Catholic High School
- Hold's Valley Catholic's career records for points, rebounds, assists and steals.
- Also earned All-League honors in soccer and softball, and finished as high as fifth in the state in javelin.

UPSIDE BROWN: Kennedy Brown Quick Hitters
- Preseason All-Pac-12 selection
- Missed the last part of the 2019-20 season due to an ACL injury suffered Feb. 7 vs. Arizona State.
- At the time of her injury, she was second in the Pac-12 in blocks.
- Is tied for fifth on Oregon State's freshman blocks list.

- Played in the Jordan Brand Classic
- Two-time Kansas Player of the Year
- Enjoys photography

IN THE PAC: 
- The Beavers are 93-28 in Pac-12 play since the start of the 2014-15 season, and 101-29 in their last 130 conference games.
- Beaver players have earned 13 All-Pac-12 First-Team nods over the last six seasons.
- Head coach Scott Rueck is one of five coaches in Pac-12 history to win the John R. Wooden Coach of the Year Award multiple times.

GILL COLISEUM: 
- Oregon State has a home record of 95-15 since the start of the 2014-15 season.
- The Beavers are 41-10 in their last 51 Pac-12 home games, and 57-11  in their last 68.
- Opponents are shooting 33.8 percent at Gill Coliseum since the start of the 2013-14 season.
- Oregon State set it record for total attendance last season.

- Averaged 17.1 points, 12.2 rebounds and 7.0 blocks per game during her 2016-17 high school season
- Didn't start playing basketball until the age of 15.

THE STAFF: Oregon State Assistant Coaches and Support Staff Quick Hitters
- Associate Head Coach Jonas Chatterton enters his seventh season with the Beavers after spending four seasons at Colorado.
- Associate Head Coach Brian Holsinger served as an assistant coach on the Washington State staff for eight seasons.
- Assistant Coach Katie Faulkner was an All-Big Sky honoree at Montana
- Assistant to the Head Coach Kendall Knotz served as a manager for Oregon State for four seasons before taking on her new role three years ago.
- DOBO Olivia Murphy graduated from Oregon State, and is in her first year with the OSU staff
- Associate Athletic Trainer Jason Lieuw (code name Bun Guy) is the longest serving member of the Oregon State staff, currently in his 12th year with the team
- Voice of the Beavers Ron Callan has called 416 Oregon State women's basketball games since joining the program in the 2007-08 season, holding a record of 262-154 during that span. 
Callan will celebrate his 29th birthday on Wednesday.
