SOMIS, Calif. – The Huskies moved up a spot on the leaderboard during day two of the Bruin/Wave Invitational carding a 26-over 314 to move their two-round total to 63-over 639 (325-314) into 10th place. Washington posted an 11-stroke improvement during the second day of the three-round tournament, held at The Saticoy Club and were led by freshman Camille Boyd who is tied for 17th.

"Today was frustrating as we played the more difficult holes better than we did the easier ones, but we have to do some soul searching in order to get better," said head coach Mary Lou Mulflur. "I was very proud of Stefanie Deng for coming back from not just a tough round yesterday but a tough start today."

Boyd made a one-stroke improvement between Monday and Tuesday's rounds to climb into a tie for 17th at 13-over 157 (79-78) and collected three birdies on the day. She was followed by senior Rino Sasaki who is also still in the top 25 as she's tied for 21st at 14-over 158 (78-80).

Freshman Stefanie Deng made the biggest jump up the leaderboard for the Huskies on Tuesday as she turned a 3-over 75 scorecard, a 12-stroke improvement from round one, to move into 40th place overall (18-over 162). After entering the day in a tie for 69th, Deng's round started with a bogey and a triple on two of her first three holes but she quickly responded adding five birdies over the next 15 holes to get back to 3-over. She closed the day by going 3-under over the last five holes.

Sophomore Brittany Kwon also improved upon her score as she carded a 9-over 81 to move to 20-over 164 while junior Martha Lewis is tied for 67th at 25-over 169 (85-84).

The final 18 holes of the 12th annual Bruin/Wave Invitational tees off at 9 a.m. PT.
