SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Freshman Rachel Heck won the individual title as she led Stanford to the team title at The Gunrock Invitational on Tuesday at Del Paso Country Club.

As a team, Stanford shot a 26-under 838 to set a new, 54-hole school record, besting the previous record of 20-under set at the 2015 Branch Law Invitational. Heck's winning 11-under 205 was one stroke off of Mhairi McKay's 54-hole school record of 12-under, set at the 1997 Pac-12 Championships.

Heck was dominant from the start, firing a 5-under 67 in the first round, followed by a 4-under 68 and 2-under 70 to claim her first collegiate victory. She is the first Stanford freshman to win her first tournament since Andrea Lee won the 2016 Windy City Collegiate. Last season, Angelina Ye won the 2019 Stanford Intercollegiate in what was her second collegiate tournament. Fellow classmate Sadie Englemann shared co-medalist honors with Brooke Seay at last week's 36-hole Stanford Dual.

Individual Rebecca Becht registered Stanford's best score of the day at 5-under 67, Stanford's third straight round with a 67, all by three different golfers. Seay had a 67 in yesterday's second round after Heck's in the morning. Individual Calista Reyes fired a 4-under 68 on Tuesday to move up and finish tied for 25th, meaning all eight of Stanford's golfers finished in the Top 25 at the event.

Seay and Becht tied for fifth while Englemann finished 10th with a 4-under 212. Aline Krauter, playing as an individual, and Angelina Ye tied for 11th, while fifth-year senior Ziyi Wang tied for 19th.

The Cardinal will host Washington on Friday at Stanford Golf Course in an 18-hole, exhibition event, before playing at the Juli Inkster Invitational next Monday and Tuesday in Fairfax.
