HONOLULU – Another multi-homer game from Madison Huskey pushed the #8 Washington Huskies to an 11-3 victory over the Hawai'i Rainbow Wahine. Huskey led the way with four RBI, while Sami Reynolds and Kaija Gibson also had multi-RBI days.

This was the fifth time this season Washington has scored double digits in a game and the seventh time they have won by run rule. Washington is 15-2 on the season now and has won its last three games by run rule, outscoring the opposition a combined 31-3 in that time.

Five different Huskies had multiple hits as Washington went a combined 12-for-29 in the game. Noelle Hee also homered today, going back-to-back with Huskey in the third. Reynolds, Huskey, and Sis Bates all scored multiple runs, three of the eight different Huskies to score tonight.

Kelley Lynch had a complete game in the circle, allowing only two hits.  She would strike out six batters in the game, putting her one over her freshman year strikeout total in seven fewer innings.

SCORING
  • First Inning: Four of Washington's first five batters reached safely to take an early 2-0 lead. Reynolds doubled to drive in the game's first run, then scored on a Gibson single two batters later.
  • Third Inning: Huskey's fourth hit of the weekend, a two-run homer, started the scoring but was far from the only offense in the inning. Huskey and Hee went back-to-back as seven straight Huskies reached base. Washington would score five runs in the inning, capped off by Reynolds' two-run single.
  • Third Inning: Hawai'i ended Washington's 31-inning scoreless streak, picking up a run on a sacrifice fly.
  • Fourth Inning: Huskey went yard for another two-run homer, her second multi-homer game this season after having none in her first two years.
  • Fifth Inning: Gibson and Lynch had bases-loaded RBI, via a fielder's choice and a single, to make it 11-1. Hawai'i would hit a two-run homer in the bottom half but that wasn't enough to stave off the run-rule victory.
